Make Connections

University and polytech can be challenging and stressful at times, especially at first when it is all new and it takes some getting use to. Making connections is important and makes the experience that much easier and much more fun! Once you are enrolled into a tertiary institution check out the different support services they have to offer, look in to the different clubs or sports you can join and see if they have any tauira Māori groups too. These are worth checking out as it’s a great way to meet new people who are in the same waka as you, while getting support about everything tertiary-related, and they provide a safe environment to study and kōrero. You never know, they might end up being your ife-long friends!
