The Importance of Sleep

Content Text:

We all know that sleep is important, our mātua and kaiako have all told us at some stage. This is no different when you head off to uni or polytech, but sometimes we don't prioritise it and pull "all-nighters". Getting a decent night's sleep is essential to our hauora in all aspects, tinana, wairua, hinengaro and whānau! It's recommended that we have at least 7 to 8 hours of sleep to increase our daytime performance and support brain function. While we sleep, we allow our bodies to rest, restore memory and conserve energy. Not getting enough sleep can lead to serious health, behavioural and development issues. Have a look at a few helpful links we have provided that can improve your sleeping habits!
